Burton 2011: Late releases

That's an exclusivity on Fluofun.com: the a presentation of Burton late models ! Two new boards, (Nug and Freebird, three boards with their new Squeezebox technology (Custom, Aftermath and Lip Stick), two bindings and a pair of boots... Discover it all after the jump !

New: the Burton NUG:

The Nug is kind of breeding between a normal board and a Microboard (do you remember it ?) It should be ridden 8 to 10cm shorter than your normal board. Avaible sizes are in consequence : 142, 146, 150.

On the tech list you can find the channel, V-Rocker, twin shape and flex, and their new technology : SQUEEZEBOX.

So Squeezbox, what is it all about ? Here is what Burton has to say about it. « Squeezebox, an entirely new concept in core dynamics. Thinner underfoot, thicker between and outside your feet, the result is a poppier board that can be powered up and manipulated with less effort ». Available in camber, V-Rocker, and also for girls.

It is called « entirely new » but it makes us think to the Popster technology that Salomon runs on some of their top boards. It widely proved its efficienty, so that sounds all good. So good that they even touch their top model with a Custom Squeezebox, or more precisely a Custom V-Rocker Squeezebox. Funny that they took a 2010 V Rocker Custom instead of a 2011 Flying-V Custom.

So you will understand it pretty easily : take a Custom V-Rocker, add it the Squeezebox tech we previously talked about and here we go. Available in 154 and 158cm.

If you are not that much into the rocker thing, another board has been Squeezeboxised: the Aftermath. The geniusly named « Aftermath Squeezebox » will be cheaper than the Custom V-Rocker Squeezebox and available in155 and 158cm.

Here is what those boards are going to look like, accompagnied by the Lip Stick LTD for young girls that enjoy V-Rocker. For the girls, Squeezebox is called "True Flex", but it’s exactly the same. We are pretty happy that the design was made by a French artist from the wonderful city of Marseille : Françoise Nielly!

To conclude on the boards side, here is the Burton Freebird. Hell yes, burton was missing an affordable split board, so here is the solution. S-Rocker, 7mm tapper. Interface, Skins, and Crampons Sold Separately.

On the binding side, another surprise with the Cartel RE:Flex. 20% lighter, new capstraps, new Auto-Cant technology, handling the canting for all you lazy folks, all that recycled materials. Not the worse thing ever.

Burton is also lifting its Mission with new Mission EST Restricted, this being composed with recycled material too.

Finally, a boots is also on the program : the Burton Raptor. New speed lace system with space for the laces themselves. You might have already seen the TRON colourway, here is it again.
